“Better Life, Better Li” the project that seeks to empower local communities by showcasing their unique crafts and talents to the world. It is founded by Gorn, Mr. Gorngris Kositsakul, who had the ideas from the experienced during his internship at the Export-Import Bank of Thailand, this project was conceived from the heart with the aim of closing the income inequality gap and creating a better life for those who need it most.

OUR MISSON
At “Better Life, Better Li”, we are committed to assisting these people to link up with the global consumers and market their culture. We also believe that there is a story to tell by every artisan and therefore we can help tell the story through an online platform to also enhance the sale of their products.

ONLINE PRESENCE
We are building a website that will display the artisans’ products. This will allow them to sell their products to the international market and showcase their heritage crafts to the world.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
In Li Community, there are people with challenges in their lives, including people with Physical or Mental Disabilities, Single mothers, unemployed and eldery group. We committed to helping them grow together.

PARTNERSHIP
We are teaming up with Thai designers to ensure that we use local handicrafts in contemporary collections. This not only helps the artisans but also adds cultural value to the design world.

PROMOTING TOURISM
We aim to reveal the sights of Li community to attract visitors who are interested in the culture and craftsmanship of the area.

HEAD INSTRUCTOR
Kru Aoo”, whose real name is Ms. Aumporn Loedhatthawit is the leader and founder of The Handicraft Center at Baan Pha Nam, located in Li District, Lamphun Province. She established this center in 2005 in order to overcome the challenges from her family’s health crisis that impact her and everyone in her family. She began to collect more orders, distributed work and generated income to everyone in the group. She became the mentor to the vulnerable community member, teaching skills in sewing and embroiling handicrafts.
She focused on developing products using local resources, enhancing them to reflect the unique community’s identity while promoting beautiful place around Li area.
Kru Aoo aims to empower these vulnerable individuals to be able to take care of themselves and their families again. Importantly, she wants them to recognize their self-worth and build a positive mindset to thrive forward.
